Third generation broom makers, Tammy and David Ogle
still practice their craft the way it was handed down. Their shop
is located on Glades Road at the "Glades at Powdermill" area in Gatlinburg.
David grows most of his own broom corn, cuts the vines and
limbs out in the woods, and carves the handles. Tammy takes the broom after
David assembles it and actually sows the tassles together. The end product
is as useful and durable as it is decorative.
